Online Student Support

Naropa has been a pioneer in broadening the reach of transformative education through its distance learning applications. Now, Naropa’s online and low-residency students have access to the student support and community resources offered in our on-campus programs. Whether you live in California or Katmandu, you can engage the full suite of Naropa’s academic and personal support services through our online platforms.

With the help of our compassionate staff, students can find groups or clubs to join, set up online counseling sessions, access housing resources for remote students, participate in student government, and more. In the coming months, we will be adding more ways for students to engage virtually, including virtual walk-in hours for academic advising and community events like ‘Keep Naropa Weird’. Naropa students and staff can find more information here.

Support Services Offered for Online Students:

Orientation

The orientation model is intended to support a multimodal approach including in-person, online, and a hybrid option.

Student Support

CARE team support is accessible to all students, whether they are residential or online.

Student Conduct

Conduct meetings can be hosted via Zoom and if needed, different time options can be provided based on student need and timezone/location.

Campus & Residential Life

We are committed to helping our online students interact with the campus community, providing basic needs for students, and encouraging local civic engagement.

Title IX Support for Online Students

Reports made to the Title IX Office via e-mail or phone will be followed up on within 24 hours. Urgent matters will be responded to as promptly as possible, although they are rare for online students. To submit a Title IX Complaint, please contact the Dean of Students Office by emailing deanofstudentsoffice@naropa.edu.

Counseling & Wellness

We offer a variety of online workshops, outreach and education events, and our therapy assistance online platform, TAO Connect to online students.  We also provide individual counseling through a secure tele mental health platform to online students who live in Colorado.  While state laws don’t allow us to provide counseling outside of Colorado, online out of state students can work with one of our Counselors to get set up with a counselor in their local community.

Accessibility and Disability Services

Students who qualify for ADA accommodations can work with our Accessibility Coordinator to register for accommodations in the remote learning environment.

Admissions & Advising

We support online students with the help of software to easily schedule appointments with admissions counselors, chat with advisors, attend virtual open houses, conduct graduate admissions interviews by phone. And a virtual tour of Naropa’s campus is coming soon!

International Students

International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) supports international students and scholars in pursuing their goals at the university through comprehensive advising; engagement and programming; and advocacy efforts.
