Learn About Our Graduate Student Programs

Graduate students must apply directly through their program of interest. Applicants may only apply to one program at a time. Because our graduate programs are distinct from one another and designed to fully prepare the student in a particular area, we do not offer combination or interdisciplinary program options.

As an aspiring Naropa graduate student, you’ll find that our application process encourages your openness and contemplation. We promise to offer a holistic application review, ensuring that your voice is heard by the entire review committee.

Naropa’s popular graduate program—the Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling—has six unique concentrations, each with its own application process. Find out how to apply to each concentration by following the links below:

Hear from Naropa Graduate Students

“I felt called to Naropa. When I applied, I knew it was the next step on my soul journey towards healing myself and becoming a more integrated human being. I truly believe that change starts at home in our own minds and bodies and radiates out to the world.”

Thea Bosselmann, Creative Writing & Poetics, 2017

“At convocation, my future friend Zoey climbed onstage and explained her serendipitous journey toward Naropa. Zoey is trans, and I am nonbinary trans. To see someone like me have that courage and be accepted is what solidified my sense of home at Naropa.”

—Garen Whitmore, Creative Writing & Poetics, 2017
