Dr. Elizabeth Slator is a seasoned educator, coach, and consultant with over 20 years of experience in health, human performance, and behavior change. She teaches courses on human development, mindfulness, and performance psychology, and offers personalized coaching that blends mindfulness and cognitive-based techniques for meaningful personal growth.
A lifelong adventurer and nature enthusiast, Elizabeth’s passion for outdoor exploration began with her first overnight backpacking trip in the early 1990s and has taken her from mountain trails to ocean waves. An avid surfer, hiker, and all-around sports-nut, she is especially drawn to the intersection of mindfulness, nature, and well-being, which has been a primary focus of the immersive programs and retreats she has designed and led over the years.
Elizabeth holds a BS in Health Promotion and an MEd in Exercise Science/Sport Psychology from Auburn University, and a PhD in Health and Human Performance from the University of Tennessee. She is also an ICF Associate Certified Coach specializing in mindfulness-based behavior change, an American Council on Exercise-certified personal trainer, a qualified Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) teacher, and a certified Wilderness First Responder.
In all aspects of her work, Elizabeth invites others to meet life with authenticity, equanimity, and a sense of play—which she strives to embody in her own life.
