
ACADEMIC PROGRAMS:
Dr. Sara Veglahn (she/her/hers) has taught creative writing and literature in the Department of Writing and Poetics at Naropa University since 2008, most recently serving as the Interim Director and Chair (2021–2022) and as a Visiting Instructor (2019–2021). She earned her MFA in poetry from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst, and her PhD in literature and creative writing (fiction) at the University of Denver. She is the author of the novels, The Ladies (2017), winner of the Noemi Press Book Award for Fiction, and The Mayflies, (Dzanc, 2014). Her writing and reviews have appeared or are forthcoming in Conjunctions, Fence, Caketrain, Octopus, Full Stop, and elsewhere. Research and scholarship interests include contemporary fiction, the sentence and narrative, hybrid forms, British and American Modernism, Virginia Woolf, film studies, and text/image writing. She currently lives and writes in Denver, CO.
