Juliet L. King PhD, ATR-BC, LPC, LMHC is thrilled to join Naropa University as a Core Professor. She also serves as an Adjunct Associate Professor of Neurology at Indiana University School of Medicine. Previously, she served on the faculty at The George Washington University and was the founding director of the graduate art therapy program at IU Herron School of Art and Design, where her leadership helped establish over 30 student internship partnerships across Indiana. With over 25 years of experience as a clinician, educator, and researcher, her work explores the intersection of art therapy and neuroscience, with a focus on making therapeutic arts accessible across diverse communities and cultures. She holds a PhD in Translational Health Sciences and is the author and editor of Art Therapy, Neuroscience, and Trauma: Theoretical and Practical Perspectives (2nd edition, 2024). Her current project is a neuroscience-informed art therapy toolkit to support trauma treatment, education, and global knowledge exchange.
