Nature-Based Transpersonal Counseling Internship
During their third year, students complete a nine- to twelve-month clinical internship. The other courses during that year are either online or weekend intensives so that students only need to be on campus once a semester. This allows students to do internships anywhere around the country. Internship sites include a wide range of opportunities: school settings or traditional clinical settings with opportunities to work with clients outside, equine-assisted programs, residential treatment programs and back-country–based programs. Clinical populations served during internships range from young children to adults. Some of the organizations providing internship experience in the past include the following:
AIM House | Boulder, Colorado |
Bay Area Community Resources | San Rafael, California |
Boulder Alcohol Education Center | Boulder, Colorado |
Boulder Creek Academy | Bonners Ferry, Idaho |
Children’s Trauma Recovery Foundation | Boston, Massachusetts |
Equine Therapy of the Rockies | Cold Creek Canyon, Colorado |
Maria Droste Counseling Services | Denver, Colorado |
Medicine Horse Program | Boulder, Colorado |
Odyssey School | Denver, Colorado |
Open Sky Wilderness Therapy | Durango, Colorado |
Rocky Mountain School of Expeditionary Learning | Denver, Colorado |
