Caroline Swanson, better known as Swanee, is a poet-scribe from Sacramento. She is an active culture worker and has served as a board member on the Sacramento Poetry Center and collective.aporia, volunteered in various youth literacy programs and workshops, and continues to write and perform original work. She has a background in small press publishing, modeling, culinary arts. Her current interests are in Norse Animism, language permutation, and energy systems.

Swanee has a BA in English Literature from the University of Iowa where she was also a writer in their non-fiction track, and an MFA from the Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetics where she was awarded the Ted Berrigan Scholarship and the Leslie Scalapino Award.
