Robiraki: Reforging the Way of Tea at Naropa

 Tea Demo & Chat

Robiraki is the Tea New Year, when the tea that was picked that spring is opened and turned into fresh matcha, and the sunken hearth (ro) is opened for the winter season. Come celebrate the season with the historic Naropa Tea House as we demonstrate traditional Japanese tea preparation (also known as Japanese tea ceremony). We will discuss the seasons, the history of the Way of Tea at Naropa, Zen philosophy, and more. We will make Robiraki intentions to reforge the Naropa Tea House and its community into a vibrant, culturally responsible, accessible, and inclusive offering to Naropa. Most importantly, we will enjoy fresh tea and sweets in community.
