NAPS Speaker Series: Animism as Life with Alexa Iya Soro
We are excited to announce the next speakers of our 2024 Speaker Series: Alexa Iya Soro
Alexa will be leading a discussion on the Three R’s of Animism: ritual, recognition, & reciprocity as a natural human state, and will propose these practices of animism as the most needed next competency in the World of Psychedelics. Alexa proposes this cosmology, along with embodied preparation and integration practices through the four elements, as foundational as we shift into what she considers the fourth wave of psychedelics, a new global movement towards Earth stewardship, cultural reclamation, ecocentrism and collective healing as catalyzed and nurtured through the intact, accessible and compassionate indigenous traditions and elders opening their hearts and homes.
Alexa Iya Soro is a holistic therapist & ritual facilitator who helps people reconnect with their vital essence and the inherent creative energy that weaves through the cosmos. She guides the reclaiming of self-empowerment and earth connection with an eclectic practice of transpersonal, humanist, animist, and depth psychology.
Alexa provides consulting and supervision for psychedelic integration therapists and guides via one on one sessions or seasonal immersion containers. Her current service work is International Retreat Production and facilitation with sacred plant medicines in Mexico. Her psycho-spiritual work has been informed by teachers like Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche and Tibetan Buddhism holders via Naropa, by indigenous wisdom holders from Tz’utujil Tradition through Nana Marina, Martin Pretchel, Vision Toltec of her teachers in Mexico, and the Yoruba Culture through Daniel Foor PhD. Alexa honors the forces of the Sacred Fire, Holy Waters & her own ancestral Allies.
