Mo Bankey is Student Trustee and a graduate student in the Contemplative Psychotherapy and Buddhist Psychology program at Naropa University. After receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Politics from Mount Holyoke College in 2005, Mo first pursued non-profit work in Washington, D.C. and Philadelphia. Before coming to Boulder in 2015 Mo spent five years in Southern Maine as a yoga teacher, yoga therapy practitioner, sexual assault support line volunteer, and managed a reproductive health center. Mo first discovered meditation while living in Japan as a teenager and found a meditation home in the Shambhala Buddhist community in 2009. Mo served as Societal Health and Well-Being Director for the Brunswick Portland Shambhala Center in 2014 and 2015. Mo is committed to diversity and inclusivity issues, student engagement, contemplative education, and contemplative leadership. Outside of school, Mo studies dance, permaculture, and plant medicine.
