Lisa Birman is the author of How To Walk Away, winner of the 2016 Colorado Book Award for Literary Fiction, as well as For That Return Passagea Valentine for the United States of America, and co-editor of Civil Disobediences: Poetics and Politics in Action. Her work has appeared in Floor Journal, Milk Poetry Magazine, Trickhouse, and not enough night. Lisa was the Director of the Kerouac School’s Summer Writing Program for over a decade and teaches for Naropa’s low-residency MFA in Creative Writing.
