Kelly Petrie is a graduate of Naropa’s MA in Contemplative Education program and has
been teaching as adjunct faculty since her graduation in 2012. She has been involved
in the field of education for nearly 20 years, working with students in early childhood
through postsecondary education, with a primary interest in supporting students with
diverse learning needs through holistic approaches to education.
Kelly is currently an independent professional educator dedicated to cultivating a
sense of wellbeing, impassioned learning, and interconnectivity through the development
of innovative programs that employ contemplative pedagogies and creative modalities
for optimal human flourishing. She serves children, parents, school professionals,
and other adult learners through the programs she creates.
She is also a certified yoga instructor with advanced training in therapeutic elements
of yoga and a practice leader with the Tergar International meditation community.
She was mentored by Susan Kaiser Greenland and Dr. Patricia Broderick to teach mindfulness
to children and adolescents.
Kelly is a deeply devoted practitioner of meditation, yoga, and contemplative arts
and holds a special passion in her heart for people who live the experience of autism.
