Clarissa joins Naropa as an Assistant Professor in Clinical Mental Health Counseling: Mindfulness-Based Transpersonal Counseling. She is currently a doctoral candidate in Counselor Education and Supervision and specializes in counselor development, counseling pedagogy, and areas of supervision. She is also an alumni to Naropa and graduated from Naropa’s Mindfulness-Based Transpersonal Counseling program in 2015. Clarissa conducted her doctoral research building a grounded theory on the use of contemplative practices and perspectives in the counseling classroom and has research interests in contemplative pedagogy, teaching presence, authenticity in teaching, and contemplative epistemology or contemplation as a way of knowing.
