Transcend: Improvisational Movement, Music, and Video Across Continents

April 29 @ 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm

Dancer, Choreographer & Teacher Jeremy Cline, MFA
Lenz Fellow Jeremy Cline, MFA

This event further explores the research of Lenz Fellow Jeremy Cline looking at movement improvisation as a form of mindfulness. This time, technological elements will play a larger role and the night will be broken up into two acts:

Act 1: Naropa community music and dance improvisors will make totally original work on the spot. This will be augmented by live video projection and video documentation of the training process of improvisation. This is a process-based work and performers will be discovering and creating onstage.

Act 2: A Trans-Atlantic collaboration between dancers from Mi Chantli in Boulder and the London-based digital performance platform Skopetur. Electronic musicians from the Infinite Monkeys Collective in London will create improvisational music and stream it live to Boulder while dance improvisors from Mi Chantli dance in-real-life. The dancer’s movements will be augmented in real time by Vytas Visual Artist who takes movement image data and translates it into abstract shapes and patterns.

The event is family friendly and open to everyone. Register here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/transcend-improvisational-movement-music-and-video-across-continents-tickets-615278262847?utm-campaign=social&utm-content=attendeeshare&utm-medium=discovery&utm-term=listing&utm-source=cp&aff=escb
