Rev. Donald H. Matthews, PhD

Rev. Donald H. Matthews, PhD, is an associate professor of religious studies and coordinator of the Master of Divinity Program at Naropa University in Boulder, CO, where he teaches courses in pastoral psychology and social ethics. Dr. Don, as he is called, has authored several books including Honoring the Ancestor: An African Cultural Interpretation of Black Religion and Literature, Oxford University Press, and Pastor or Pimp? Economic and Sexual Abuse in the Church. He has taught at several theological seminaries and universities, and completed a clinical residency as a chaplain for persons in emotional and physical crisis. He is the father of five children and has four grandchildren.
