Norlin Vouchers

University of Colorado-Boulder University Libraries

Naropa University has a formal arrangement with CU-Boulder that allows our community to access services offered by CU-Boulder University Libraries.

Naropa Students

Vouchers are available at both Allen Ginsberg Library and Nalanda Arts and Psychology Library at the main circulation desks—bring your Naropa ID! There is no fee for vouchers for students.

Take your voucher, along with your Naropa ID, to the Norlin Library main circulation desk located on the CU-Boulder campus.

Norlin vouchers expire at the end of every semester and you are welcome to get a new voucher each semester.

Naropa Faculty and Staff

Vouchers are available at both Allen Ginsberg Library and Nalanda Arts and Psychology Library at the main circulation desks—bring your Naropa ID! There is a $40 fee for vouchers for faculty and staff.

Take your voucher, along with your Naropa ID, to the Norlin Library main circulation desk located on the CU-Boulder campus.

Norlin vouchers expire at the end of every semester and you are welcome to get a new voucher each semester.

Please note that the voucher fee for faculty and staff is not discounted from what one would pay oneself if setting up a public patron account at CU Libraries. However, Naropa community members have additional privileges that are offered through the voucher program which include:

  • The ability to pay semi-annually, instead of for a full year at a time; if you only need access during one semester of the academic year, this would allow you to save money
  •
  • The ability to recall books
  •
  • Unlimited renewals
  •
  • The ability to request books from Pascal, the off-site storage system
  •
  • The ability to check out A/V materials for use in Norlin Library

CU-Boulder University Libraries Policies

  • Access to CU Libraries online resources is available while in the library; remote access is not available

  • Have your Naropa ID and library voucher on hand when you set up your account

  • The standard checkout period for books is 90 days with 3 renewals

  • Books not returned or renewed within 30 days of due date will be billed for replacement; generally a $100 fee

  • Even if the item is returned later than 30 days, there is a $10 late charge

  • Also note that by state law, CU Libraries are required to send unpaid bills to a collections agency after 60 days; this is not something that Naropa or our library can prevent

  • Items with short term checkouts, like A/V materials, are fined at either $2/hour or $2/day

  • When items with a 28-day checkout period are overdue, CU Libraries send out emails at the rate of 5-6 over a 90-day period

How To Get To Norlin Library

  • Norlin is less than a mile away from Naropa’s Arapahoe Campus. There is a convenient walking path between Naropa and CU, and the HOP bus (which stops just downstreet from the corner of Arapahoe Ave. and Folsom St.) has a stop right on the plaza in front of Norlin.

    * The Law Library at CU Boulder uses a separate circulation system and one would need to set up a separate account with them. Accounts at the Law Library are currently free; no voucher is needed.

Naropa Campuses Closed on Friday, March 15, 2024

Due to adverse weather conditions, all Naropa campuses will be closed Friday, March 15, 2024.  All classes that require a physical presence on campus will be canceled. All online and low-residency programs are to meet as scheduled.

Based on the current weather forecast, the Healing with the Ancestors Talk & Breeze of Simplicity program scheduled for Friday evening, Saturday, and Sunday will be held as planned.

Staff that do not work remotely or are scheduled to work on campus, can work remotely. Staff that routinely work remotely are expected to continue to do so.

As a reminder, notifications will be sent by e-mail and the LiveSafe app.

Regardless of Naropa University’s decision, if you ever believe the weather conditions are unsafe, please contact your supervisor and professors.  Naropa University trusts you to make thoughtful and wise decisions based on the conditions and situation in which you find yourself in.
