Hearst Scholarship for Underserved Populations
The Hearst Scholarship will be awarded during the 2007–08 and 2008–09 academic year to full-time undergraduate students who demonstrate significant financial need, academic capability or potential, are a resident of the United States and are from an underserved or underrepresented population. The award amount is $5,000. Students may receive the award in both years, but must reapply for the second year. The following materials must be submitted to the director of financial aid for consideration. A letter of recommendation and a 1–2 page essay describing why the student believes he or she qualifies for the award based on the selection criteria.
