Remember that as you glance through the scholarships, if a deadline is past, you may want to apply for it NEXT year, or check and make sure that the deadline hasn’t changed. Often times the same scholarships are awarded year after year.

Criteria for Selection:
This is a highly competitive scholarship. The website reports that for the 2007 award there were 20 recipients out of 360 applicants, so pay close attention to their guidelines.
Undergraduate and graduate students
Hearing loss must have been diagnosed before acquiring spoken language (prior to the age of 7).
Hearing loss must be in the moderate to profound range and bilateral.
Students with cochlear implantsare eligible, but unilateral hearing loss are ineligible.
Student’s primary mode of communication must be spoken language
Student must be enrolled (or have applied) to a mainstream institution.
Catching the Dream (formerly Native American Scholarship Fund) Deadline: varies by award Award Amount: $500–$5,000 per academic year

The CollegeInvest Service Scholarship Deadline: TBA Award Amount: $3,000/year for two (2) years
Criteria for Selection:
Fifty-five (55) randomly drawn $6,000 scholarships (award amount will be divided over a two-year period, $3,000 each year) will be awarded to Colorado students who:
Attend a Colorado two or four-year college, or vocational college or university in the fall
Are a full-time, undergraduate student each year
Complete the Free Application For Federal Student Aid and have an EFC of 7600 or less (FAFSA does not have to be completed prior to registering)
Commit to 40 hours each year, for two years, in a service-to-children volunteer program.
Volunteer opportunities will include working in a school where you are attending college, or working with one of CollegeInvest’s volunteer partners such as Denver Kids Inc., Colorado I Have A Dream Foundation®, I Have A Dream Foundation of Boulder County®, College Summit, The Bridge Project, and Open Door Youth Gang Alternatives.

The Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation Deadline: October 31 Award Amount: 50 four-year $20,000 scholarships ($5,000 per year for four years) and 200 four-year $10,000 scholarships ($2,500 per year for four years) Criteria For Selection:

You are a U.S. citizen or qualified non-citizen.
Your personal assets (bank account, car, home, etc.) are not worth more than $10,000.
You must be aged 18, 19 or 20 when you first apply to the ETV Program.
You must have been accepted into or be enrolled in a degree, certificate or other accredited program at a college, university, technical or vocational school. To remain eligible for ETV funding, you must show progress towards a degree or certificate.

Criteria for Selection:
The Horatio Alger Association offers two scholarships for which students in Colorado are eligible: The National Scholarship and The Military Scholarship.
High school seniors expecting to enroll in an accredited U.S. college or university for the award year.
Demonstrate critical financial need
Participation in co-curricular and community activities
GPA of 2.0 or better
U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
For Military Scholarship:

Korean American Scholarship Foundation-Western Region Application deadline: May 31 Award Amount: $2,000 or higher
Criteria for Selection:
Will be a full time student at a school in one of the designated Western states according to the KASF’s delineation of regions during the 07 – 08 school year.
A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
Be able to demonstrate need for financial assistance.
One’s category depends on what your status will be during the current school year.
High School Students, 9th thru 11th: Achievement Award
High School seniors, planning to attend college in 07–08. The chosen college must be within the western region. You must include a copy of your acceptance letter from a school that is within the western region according to the KSAF. You will be disqualified if the school that you are planning to attend is outside of the designated states.
College Students (currently fr, soph, jr): The school you are attending must be within the western region.
College Students (currently a senior): You are not qualified to apply for this scholarship unless you will be attending Graduate School in the western region during the 07–08 school year. You have to submit a letter of acceptance either from a graduate or professional school.
Graduate students: You must be continuing your studies in the 07–08 school year at a school within the western region.
A current non-student is eligible for a scholarship by providing documentation (acceptance letter, signed commitment letter, or any document showing commitment to attend) that they will be a full time student in 07–08 school year.
