To be considered for the above sources of financial aid, applicants must complete the Financial Aid Application for International Students. Student must also have a complete admissions application on file for one of the University’s degree programs. Students must reapply for financial aid for each subsequent year of study. No international student should expect more than a maximum of $3,000-$6,500 of financial aid per year. At least half of this aid will be in the form of student employment, which is an opportunity to work on campus and earn a monthly paycheck. Student employment funds are not applied towards your tuition charges. New students are encouraged to complete the Financial Aid application by March 1 for the next academic year, however late applications will be accepted. Current international students must submit the financial aid application by the March 1 deadline in order to be considered for all types of aid available to International Students.
International students are eligible for Naropa student employment, the Naropa University Grant and institutional scholarships (see the graduate scholarship or undergraduate scholarship sections for descriptions.) Prospective students from other countries should also explore possibilities of funding from their governments and from private foundations.
Naropa University Grant
Awarded to needy, full-time, degree-seeking undergraduate students, the Naropa University Grant awards amounts ranging from $1,000–$6,000. The Naropa University grant is a university-funded grant program.
Naropa Student Employment
This is a university-funded work program available to needy international students. The pay scale ranges from $7–$9 per hour, subject to taxation. International students may not work more than twenty hours per week. Positions are posted on the job board outside the Student Affairs Office and on the Human Resources section of this website. Students may also contact offices and departments directly regarding possible positions. Students receive monthly paychecks for the hours worked each month; funds are not applied to the tuition bill. Although the university funds a large student employment program, employment is not guaranteed for every student. Hiring is at the discretion of the area supervisor. Students in the London Lecoq Program are not eligible for work study but will be assisted with obtaining work permits.
Canadian Student Loan Program
Residents of Canada may apply for educational loans through this program. Applications are available through the Canadian provincial governments.
