Financial Aid Application

Steps to Apply for Financial Aid

Step 1:

Step 2:
Receive your Student Aid Report.

  • After filing the FAFSA, the Central Processor will mail you a paper Student Aid Report (SAR) or send you an e-mail notifying you that your SAR is available for your review on the FAFSA Web site.
  • Please review your SAR for accuracy, being careful to correct anything that may have been misreported. If corrections are necessary, return your signed SAR to the Central Processor. Please contact the US Department of Education at 1-800-433-3243 if you do not receive a SAR notification.
  • Verification for Federal Student Aid Programs
Your application was selected by the U.S. Dept. of Education for review in a process called “verification.” In this process, we are required by federal law (34 CFR, Part 668) to compare the information from your application with the information provided on this form and with signed copies of your federal tax forms (and your spouse’s if you are married, or parents’ if you are considered dependent for federal aid purposes). If there are differences between your application and the documents you’ve submitted, we may need to make corrections. We cannot calculate your financial aid eligibility until verification has been completed, so please provide the required documents as soon as possible.

    2008-2009 Verification Form

Please contact the Financial Aid office (finaid@naropa.edu) if you require a 2006-2007 Verification Form.

Step 3:
Receive your financial aid packet with award letter.

  • Accept, reduce, or decline your awards
  • Turn in all needed paperwork (Master Promissory Note, PLUS loan paperwork, and award letter)
  • Do loan a counseling and sign a Master Promissory Note through lender of your choice. Follow the links below for more information on how to do that

Step 4:
Disbursement of your financial aid.
Charges are assessed to your account after you register for classes. Once you have completed all financial aid requirements, your aid will be credited to your account. If there is more than enough financial aid to cover your costs you will receive a refund check. Refunds are available only after classes have started. For returning students, the earliest possible time is the first day of classes. For new students, the earliest possible time is Friday of the first week of classes.
