Monastic Scholarship
The Monastic Scholarship is awarded to one or two students each year, who is an ordained monk or nun of any religious order. Naropa’s Religious Studies Department may be contacted for more information. The award amount may cover up to 15 credits per semester will be covered, if awarded to one student, or up to 9 credits per semester (per student) may be covered if award to two students. No living expenses will be covered so all applicants will need to have a means to cover those expenses. The award is renewable.
Part of the application process asks you to describe the nature of your monastic commitments or vows and the duration of your monastic commitment. Preference is given to applicants who have chosen monasticism as a lifelong path and whose commitments or vows include restrictions on future income (i.e. vows of poverty or the like.)
