Bernie Marek Scholarship for Art Therapy Students Awarded to one incoming Art Therapy student who exhibits academic and artistic ability and who exhibits financial need. Selection will be based upon evaluation of the student’s admission application.
Naropa University is pleased to announce the creation of the Bernie Marek Scholarship for Art Therapy Students. A longtime and beloved Naropa University Professor, Bernie Marek, passed away on January 25th, 2006. Bernie joined the Naropa University community in the early 1970’s during the school’s inception, and went on to be an instructor Department of Art and Somatic Psychology and in the Art Therapy Program. With penetrating insight and precision, Bernie was able to blend the meditative practices of his mentor Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche with the visual arts and art therapy.
This scholarship is awarded to one incoming Art Therapy student who exhibits academic and artistic promise and demonstrated financial need. Selection will be base upon evaluation of the student’s admission application.
