The Frederick P. Lenz Foundation Graduate Assistance Scholarship
The Frederick P. Lenz Foundation Graduate Assistance Scholarship, made possible in part by a grant from the Frederick P. Lenz Foundation for American Buddhism, helps promising graduate students in the Religious Studies Department remain in their graduate programs and bring them to completion. Award amounts range from $500 to $2500.
Selection criteria:
Enrolled full-time graduate student in any of the degree programs in the Department of Religious Studies at Naropa University
Outstanding academic record and/or vocational promise
Demonstrated financial need
US citizen or permanent resident (the portion funded by Naropa University may also be available to international students)
Student cannot be a current recipient of a Frederick P. Lenz Foundation Merit Scholarship
Potential for making a contribution to American society, especially:
- A contribution to the development of American Buddhism or
- A contribution to the development of a contemplative approach to life in American society
Student will be participating in a non-credit degree requirement during the academic year (summer through spring) for which they are applying for funds.
Application deadline: April 1st for summer, October 1st for December.
