Pamela Krasney is a member of the Development Committee at Naropa University, with which she has been involved since the university's inception in 1974. A longtime practitioner of Shambhala Buddhism, Krasney is a founding member of the Shambhala Trust and a board member of Shambhala Mountain Center. She has lived in Sausalito, California, for more than twenty years and her volunteer involvements there have included work with the HIV-AIDS epidemic, prison reform and anti-death penalty activism. She is married to Martin Krasney, a renowned agnostic, and has two children and two grandsons.
