Laura I. Rendón is professor in the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies at Iowa State University, College of Human Sciences. Dr. Rendón has published several books, including Sentipensante Pedagogy: Educating for Wholeness, Social Justice and Liberation, as well as Educating a New Majority and Transforming the First Year of College for Students of Color.

Dr. Rendón is chair of board of directors for the National Council for Community and Education Partnerships. She is past president of the Association for the Study of Higher Education, the nation's premier scholarly organization focusing on higher education research. Dr. Rendón has also been a fellow of the Fetzer Institute.
