Christopher Hormel has extensive experience with nonprofit organizations in governance roles including finance, endowment, fundraising and program policy in the areas of education, social change advocacy and environmental issues. He was a founding member of the Fund for Idaho,
a grant making foundation for social change in Idaho. He also served as a board member and treasurer of the Snake River Alliance, Idaho's Nuclear Watchdog group from 2000–07.
He's a longtime member of the Shambhala Community and a student of Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche and Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche. He lives in Boulder with his wife, LuAnne, and their three cats and two dogs. He is completing his master's degree in contemplative psychotherapy at Naropa University.
