Important Information for Students Graduating in 2011–12

The process to complete your degree and the process to participate in the ceremony are separate:

• The Degree Completion Procedures are held by Registration. This is how you will make your application to formally complete your degree and receive a diploma.See Degree Completion or contact Registration for information and details.
  
• To participate in Spring Commencement please fill out the “Application to Walk” form and submit to the Office of Student Affairs
  

What you must do to participate in Commencement:

1. Fill out the “Application to Walk” form and submit to Student Affairs
2. Purchase a sash at Student Affairs or one of the Clearance Fairs listed below

   Thursday, April 12, 11:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m.
   Arapahoe Campus, Student Center (in Admininstration Building basement)

   Friday, April 13, Noon–2:30 p.m.

3. Request Tickets for your guests on "Application to Walk" form

Commencement Day Information

Time and Location

Naropa University’s Commencement Ceremony is held in Macky Auditorium (on the University of Colorado at Boulder campus) on Saturday, May 12 starting at 3:00 p.m. Doors open at 2:15 p.m.

• Graduates are required to be at Macky Auditorium (inside) by 2:00 p.m. Doors will open at 2:15 p.m. for guests. The ceremony usually lasts between 2.5–3.0 hours.
• No food or drinks are allowed inside the auditorium, with the exception of water.
• The auditorium is a short walk from Naropa University’s Arapahoe Campus, and many people prefer to walk up. Free parking is available close-by at Naropa, and paid parking is available right outside Macky Auditorium. Get directions from the airport and other locations here: Directions to Macky Auditorium

Reception

• Dessert reception immediately following the commencement ceremony in the tented area adjacent to Macky Auditorium—All are welcome.

Special Accommodations

• If you or any of your invitees require a sign language interpreter, Spanish language translation, accessible parking or accessible seating, please indicate this on the “Application to Walk” form.
• Please check the Macky Auditorium website for more information on location, parking etc.

Tickets

No one (other than graduating students) is allowed inside Macky Auditorium without a ticket. Please fill in your request for tickets on the “Application to Walk” form and remember to submit it to Student Affairs

The last date to submit your “Application to Walk” form is March 16. You must fill out this form if you want to participate in Commencement on May 12.
