Counseling Center

We provide AFFORDABLE COUNSELING to Naropa University students on a limited basis.

In the 2009–10 academic year, three MA intern counselors will be available to provide counseling to students at a sliding scale per session (no one will be turned away based on an inability to pay).

How to set up an appointment:

Please print and fill out the Intake Form or visit the Naropa Student Affairs office to pick up a paper copy. Review the counselor’s bios listed below and contact one of them directly to set up an appointment.

Our counseling interns will also be available for walk-ins at our Counseling Offices on the East entrance of the Snow Lion building (20th and Goss) every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday between 11:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. You do not need to set up an appointment if you are coming during those times

Henry Toney
Counseling Intern, MA Transpersonal Counseling Psychology
303-245-4697 X3
htoney@students.naropa.edu

Henry has 22 years of shamanic practice. He also writes poetry, practices T’ai Chi, and sculpts, and is a disabled Vietnam era veteran. In the tradition of the “wounded healer”, he has engaged a considerable range of common perplexing problems, as well as some that are fortunately less frequent. He brings much insight and awareness from the perspective of both a client and a counselor. Henry finds life as a human being to be extraordinarily complex and quite difficult at times. In general and multiculturally, he has experienced both enormous privilege and tremendously harsh challenges. This has fostered a core sense of the sacred within Henry, as well as a profound respect for all things. His quest is to be a safe and loving presence in all of his relations. Having a particular fondness for our diverse and remarkable student body, Henry is excited about exploring issues in partnership with his clients.
