Alok Hsu Kwang-han
This workshop is for artists and non-artists who are drawn to the adventure of being intimate with the unknown, from which the intelligence, good humor and creativity outside the boundaries of what we know meet us.
With simple and effective energy and meditation exercises you will come more and more to “rest in presence and move from emptiness”. Being playful with not-knowing and putting aside all ideas on how to paint, you might be asked to paint the “energy” of music, a poem, a partner acting like a wild animal, the Lord of Chaos, your heart’s desire…. While your brush dances from emptiness, startling new forms arise. You watch, amazed and grateful.
A $75 materials fee is payable to the instructor. This fee includes premium artist-designed brushes, China ink and Xuan paper.
