Search Timeline
Late August/Early September 2008:
- Chuck Bunting and his colleague, Lesley Boyd, from Storbeck/Pimentel & Associates will be on campus to meet with a diverse range of individuals and groups to better understand the university's current and future needs and challenges and to obtain advice on leadership priorities and qualifications.
- Members of the search committee, together with our consultants, will reach out to more than one hundred individuals from a diverse group of university constituencies to become educated on the abovementioned issues.
- A formal leadership profile or description of the position, which will be the primary search tool, will be developed.
September 2008:
- The leadership profile will be presented to the board of trustees at the September board meeting and finalized shortly thereafter.
October & November 2008:
- The most intensive part of the recruitment process will be during these two months.
December 2008:
- The search committee will meet to review applicants and later that month, meet in person with the top candidates for interviews.
January 2009:
- The top two or three candidates will come to the campus to make formal presentations as well as engage with our faculty, staff and students.
- Following these on-campus sessions and all the input received, the search committee will make a recommendation to the board on the next president.
February 2009:
- The Board of Trustees will confirm the recommendation at its February meeting.
