Search Firm
Naropa University’s presidential search committee has retained global executive search firm Storbeck/Pimentel & Associates to assist in the search. It specializes in high-level talent consulting for senior leadership, particularly in higher education. The firm encompasses the former A.T. Kearney Executive Search unit; its education practice has placed presidents, chancellors, vice presidents, deans, and other leaders at institutions throughout the United States ranging from small private liberal arts colleges to large state university systems, including Naropa University’s presidential search six years ago.
Charles I. Bunting, consulting partner with Storbeck/Pimentel, is coordinating the Naropa search, now for the second time. Dr. Bunting and his colleagues work with the search committee to develop the position specifications, assist in identifying qualified potential candidates, research nominations, conduct preliminary interviews and professional reference checks, and coordinate additional in-depth interviews for the most promising candidates.
Dr. Bunting has conducted more than 100 searches for public and private universities, colleges, schools, and not-for-profit associations and organizations. Previously, he served as Chancellor of the Vermont State Colleges, as a senior officer at Vassar College, was one of the founders of the FIPSE program in Washington, and taught both at a historically black college and in the public schools. He also serves on several boards of trustees. Dr. Bunting received a BA in English from Amherst College and an MAT in English and Doctorate in Education from Harvard University.
