Presidential Search

Naropa University, a liberal arts institution offering mission-based contemplative education for more than thirty years, has initiated a search for a new president. In July of this year, the chair of the board of trustees communicated with the university community regarding the establishment of a formal search committee. Comprised of trustee, faculty, student and staff representatives, the search committee will work closely with the search consultancy Storbeck/Pimentel & Associates, to:

• meet with a diverse range of individuals and groups to better understand the university's current and future needs and challenges and to obtain advice on leadership priorities and qualifications;
• develop a leadership profile that articulates the attributes of a president who will help the university in meeting its objectives;
• assist in the process of identifying and screening candidates; and
• make a final recommendation to the board of trustees.

The presidential search committee is dedicated to regular communication regarding the search and is committed to a transparent process that recognizes the confidentiality of candidates and the integrity of the individuals who are serving the university in this very important endeavor. Accordingly, at its first meeting, the committee adopted a set of ethical principles that will guide the presidential search process.
