Authentic Leadership

Become a leader who can work creatively with change and uncertainty. Go beyond conventional ideas about management, planning and strategy, and learn to be more comfortable with complexity.

Through the Authentic Leadership Certificate Program, you can learn to discover unique solutions to challenges and opportunities. You can become a compassionate leader who genuinely motivates others. You can balance who you are with what you do.

This innovative training brings together the education philosophy of Naropa University with the specialized business focus of Naropa’s Marpa Center for Business and Economics.

I can make a difference in my industry and in the world

“I can make a difference in my industry and in the world. “I learned how to listen. For years I equated vulnerability with weakness and now was learning the courage and strength it takes to truly act from ones core… I could see that running my life with quick answers and faster solutions only hid endless possibilities…A profound change has come over my business. I believe in what I am doing and that I can make a difference in my industry and in the world.”
—Rick Kahn, President Territorial Development LLC

The Program
Launched in 1999, Naropa’s Authentic Leadership program is a transformative leadership course that integrates ancient wisdom with effective, modern approaches to management. The format encourages deep, personal learning in an environment that makes it possible to assimilate ideas and concepts at an accelerated pace. Online instruction makes it possible to share ideas and participate in group learning from anywhere in the world.

UNCERTAINTY AND ACCELERATED CHANGE have stretched traditional leadership and managerial approaches beyond capacity. A new kind of leader is needed — one who can respond creatively and effectively in the midst of change and step beyond conventional planning and strategy. This leader is comfortable with complexity and looks for opportunities to partner with individuals and groups to address organizational and societal issues. This leader also fosters a learning environment in his or her organization and discovers unique and creative solutions to the following questions:

  • How can we achieve bottom-line results while fostering community, commitment, and personal and professional development for ourselves and associates?
  • How can we create resilient organizations that continue to innovate and renew?
  • How can we nurture ourselves and our teams in the midst of turbulent change?
