Eco Pass

Ecological sustainability is one of Naropa University’s most important values, and we place a high emphasis on the use of alternative transportation. As a result, we provide all part-time and full-time staff and faculty of Naropa with a complimentary annual Eco Pass while they are employed. The Eco Pass, which is issued by the Regional Transportation District (RTD) is an unrestricted bus pass that allows pass holders to use any local or express bus in the region. Many of our employees use the Eco Pass daily to travel to and from work while some use it only occasionally to get to the airport or the local Eldora ski area.

In addition, Eco Pass holders are also eligible to participate in the Guaranteed Ride Home program through Ride Arrangers, a program of the Denver Council of Regional Governments. The program is a service designed to encourage the use of alternative transportation to the worksite by employees. It provides employees with a free back-up ride home through Yellow Cab when they cannot utilize their normal method of getting home, e.g. carpooling, riding the bus, bicycling, walking, etc.

Situations in which this program can be used include an employee’s or family member’s illness, working late unexpectedly, missing a usual ride home or other emergency situations. There is no charge for this service.
