Is financial aid
available?
Federal financial aid is available to U.S. citizens or permanent
residents who have been accepted into a degree program at
Naropa University and who are attending at least 6 credits
per semester. Financial aid is not dependent upon whether
the class is offered online or on campus. Aid packages are
also available to International Students at Naropa. Please
visit the financial aid section of the Naropa University Website for more information.
If you are a student at another institution, you may be able
to use your financial aid to cover taking online classes at
Naropa as electives. Check with your advisor about the possibility
and procedure for transferring accredited electives into your
graduate program.

How does it work?
Students and instructors log onto private password protected
pages for each week’s new assignments, lectures, audio and
video, and to experience any materials available for that
week. After you’ve had a chance to work through the projects,
assignments, readings or other experiential exercises, you
log back in to share your papers, assignments or thoughts
with other students through the threaded discussion bulletin
board. You may also read other students’ comments about their
experience with that week’s class. The class progresses in
this fashion from week to week, and with continued interaction,
students and instructors are able to create a dynamic, sacred
learning space. Click here to

Should I take the
course for graduate or undergraduate credit?
Students are strongly advised to check with their host school
if they have any intention of transferring credit from Naropa
to another college or university. Students must choose graduate
or undergraduate credit during registration and the drop/add
period. Credit level cannot be changed after drop/add ends.

Can I take the class
non-credit now and upgrade it to credit later by paying the
difference in tuition?
Taking a class non-credit means that you are not responsible
for fulfilling the academic requirements for the class and
you are not graded for your participation. As a result, you
will not nor will you be able to in the future, receive academic
credit for your participation should you choose to enroll
non-credit now. It is not possible to "upgrade" a non-credit
class in order to receive academic credit.

What happens if
I drop out half way through the semester?
For Degree students, and non-degree for credit students,
we follow the same add/drop schedule as the on campus classes.
The drop/add period for fall and spring courses ends on the
eigth day of classes. . If you drop during that add/drop period,
the course will not show up on your transcript and you will
receive a full refund. However, if you decide not to continue
after the drop/add period ends, you must withdraw. The Withdrawal
period begins on the ninth day of classes and ends with the
sixth week of classes. If you withdraw from a course during
this period, the grade of "W" for "withdrew" appears next
to the course title on your transcript. Partial refunds apply
during part of the withdrawal period . Summer session has
a different drop/add and withdrawal schedule. For specific
details and refund schedule, please see the Drop/Add Schedule
PDF file for the given semester at the Naropa
Registrar page).

take online courses and apply them to a degree at Naropa?
If you are interested in receiving a degree offered through

graduate programs a student may only transfer in up to 6 credits. This applies whether it is taken through Naropa or outside
of Naropa. The credits are transferred in at the discretion
of Admissions and the department.
Check with the Admissions
Department to learn which courses apply towards the degree
you are interested in.
