earned her M.F.A. in Writing & Poetics from Naropa University with an emphasis in prose and creative non-fiction. Deena worked in the Naropa Writing Center for three years as senior writing fellow and associate director, as well as being adjunct faculty in the Naropa College Core. She is also a freelance non-fiction writer whose work has been published in Natural Home Magazine and Utne Reader, among other magazines. Deena is at work on her first book, a creative non-fiction mid-life memoir, and has recently been teaching writing and literature at a private high school. She also facilitates writing retreats and workshops on writing and creativity as pathways to spiritual receptivity. In addition to writing and teaching, Deena is a certified massage therapist who specializes in working with women, from puberty to menopause, and massage as an engaged meditation into the body.
