Susanne R. Cook-Greuter is an internationally known authority on Mature Adult Development and Developmental Text Analysis. She is a core member of I-I Psychology and the Integral Business Practice group. Her Harvard thesis, Postautonomous ego development: its nature and its measurement, is a landmark empirical study in the characteristics and assessment of second-tier leaders. It maps the development of self-awareness from early vision logic to ego-transcendent meaning making. As a linguist, she is especially attuned to how language perpetuates habits of the mind and heart and the special challenges this poses to growth beyond the representational domain. Susanne is principal of Harthill USA, a consultancy specializing in integrally oriented leadership development, executive coaching, and research. Harthill USA offers the Leadership Development Profile (LDP), the only developmental tool that makes subtle distinctions in leadership capacity at the second tier. She has co-edited two books with Mel Miller, Transcendence and mature thought in adulthood (1994) and Creativity, spirituality and transcendence, (2000).
