Courses

Naropa University's online courses start and end at the same time as the traditional semester (see Academic Calendars), and online students progress through online course materials together. Registration is open until the end of drop/add period. (Please see the Registration Drop/Add Schedule PDF file for the given semester at the Naropa Registrar page.)

Registration for non-program students for the summer 2008 online classes starts 04/01/2008 and is open until the end of add/drop period: 5/23/2008. The first day of the semester is 05/19/2008. The last day of the semester is 07/14/2008.

Credit vs. Noncredit

100–400 level courses are offered for undergraduate credit.
500–800 level courses are offered for graduate credit.
Classes not restricted to program students are also available for noncredit prices.

Should I take the course for graduate or undergraduate credit?

Students are strongly advised to check with their host school if they have any intention of transferring credit from Naropa to another college or university. Students must choose graduate or undergraduate credit during registration and the drop/add period. Credit level cannot be changed after drop/add ends.

Please note: A bachelor's degree is required to take an online course for graduate credit.

May I take the class noncredit?

We are offering noncredit seats for a reduced cost for all the online classes at this time on a space available basis. Please view the Tuition and Fees page for updated cost information.

Can I take the class noncredit now and upgrade it to credit later by paying the difference in tuition?

Taking a class noncredit means that you are not responsible for fulfilling the academic requirements for the class and you are not graded for your participation. As a result, you will not nor will you be able to in the future, receive academic credit for your participation should you choose to enroll noncredit now. It is not possible to "upgrade" a noncredit class in order to receive academic credit.

How to Join a Class

In order to take classes, you need to create an account with Naropa Online first.
Then register for the classes in our online campus.
