Monthly Maintenance:
In order to insure the safety of everyone using the Naropa Bike Fleet, bikes are not checked out for more than one month at a time. When the bike is returned it undergoes a check-up to make sure that everything is working correctly. If it passes its check-up it can be checked out again.

To automatically have the bike checked out to you for the next month be sure to place a tag on the handle bar. Tags are available in a bucket attached to the Bike Shack porch. Untagged bikes will be re-issued on a first come first serve basis and your personal contract retired.

Refer to your “license plate” for both your bike’s name and its next due date. If you do not have an updated due date for any reason, contact the transportation office to get the bike’s latest information.

Fees and responsibilities:
Late bikes accrue a late fee of $1 per day after the posted due date. Lost or stolen fleet bikes or equipment must be reimbursed their full retail value. Outstanding debts will be charged to your credit card or student account.

Remember:

  • you are responsible for returning the fleet bike on or before its due date for its check up
  • if you cannot return the bike until after it’s due date you are responsible for contacting the Transportation Office to arrange another drop-off date.
  • you are only checking out the fleet bike for a month at a time
  • you are responsible for the fleet bike and any bicycle equipment in your care
  • you cannot be responsible for more than one bike, including your roommate’s, partner’s bike
  • you are responsible for reporting thefts or damage in a timely manner so that Boulder police can be informed
  • you are responsible for abiding by the terms of any payment contracts made between you and the Transportation Office.
