Student Leadership
Naropa University students take every opportunity to make their voices heard—and to make sure others' voices are heard. They also don't hesitate to extend a hand when others need help, whether it's in school or out of school. Below are just a few of the organized ways in which Naropa students engage themselves in their communities.
SUN
The Student Union of Naropa seeks to strengthen the community voice of students at Naropa. This is comparable to student government at other schools, but SUN's mission makes it unique to Naropa University.
Peers Assisting with Transformational Health (P.A.T.H.)
Peer Educators P.A.T.H. is a peer education program for holistic health at Naropa University, which empowers students to make informed lifestyle choices based on their own needs. P.A.T.H. members are trained in leadership skills as well as in healthy lifestyle practices. They hold a space of non-judgment in order to address issues concerning alcohol and other drugs, sexual expression, and general wellness without excluding any walk of life. Through creative programming, they inform students of the risks involved in certain lifestyle choices, provide alternatives, and direct those in need to the appropriate resources. The peer educators of Naropa University are warriors of compassion, shaping positive norms and inspiring healthy lifestyles.
