Naropa Resource Festival

Twice a year, once in the fall and once in the spring semester, Community Studies organizes a resource festival in collaboration with Student Affairs. These festivals are opportunities for students to connect with a variety of community resources and build relationships with people in the community around shared interests.

The Naropa Resource Festival is held during a Wednesday lunch hour so that all community members may participate, and in the past has included a barbeque, scavenger hunts, booths, art, music, snacks, dancing and drumming and dialogue circles. Our next Resource Festival will be held on the last Wednesday of January, the 28. Please come out and join us! (contact jurchek@students.naropa.edu for more information, or to secure a booth so you can present your cool group or project or business!)

Dialogue circles are opportunities to sit in community with one another and discuss at a deeper level about themes of shared interest. These circles are open to everyone and include students, staff, faculty and community members. The fall 2007 dialogue circles dealt with the following themes:

  • Health care
  • Elder care
  • Education and youth services
  • Environment
  • Social justice
  • Volunteer support
