This year the world will celebrate the 50th anniversary of On the Road, and the Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetics is your source for news about all events and celebrations. We’ll post information and links to Kerouac events as soon we hear about them. Special guest bloggers will share event reports, as well as thoughts about the significance of this important anniversary.
Also look for news from Kerouac Festival participants and organizers. The festival will take place during the Naropa Summer Writing Program, June 30th and July 1st in Boulder, Colorado. We’ll feature regular updates about the following events:

A gala evening with David Amram, Anne Waldman and the Dharma Bums, and Merge at the Boulder Theater Sunday, July 1st.
The world premiere of the film On the Road Now: Artists Respond to Kerouac in the 21st Century, featuring Lawrence Ferlinghetti, Amiri Baraka, and others. The premiere will be part of the July 1st gala evening at the Boulder Theater. While the film is in production, we’ll feature clips and commentary from participants.
A community marathon reading of On the Road with special literary luminaries and musical guests. Saturday, June 30th on the Naropa University Campus. Stay tuned for news about guests, music, and food.
Panel discussions with Kerouac collaborators and scholars Clark Coolidge,
Hettie Jones, and Audrey Sprenger. Sunday, July 1st on the Naropa University Campus.
