Ginsberg adapted into archivist's webcomic

"And these are the people I want to talk about, because I worry about them, archivists. It is amazing the things that people will tell you when you have no power to hire anyone, and now I’m angry. Really angry. It almost makes me want to...howl?"

Words with Anne Waldman

Allyson Behnke: "This past weekend Anne Waldman came to Washington, DC to celebrate the National Gallery of Art’s exhibition of 'Beat Memories: The Photographs of Allen Ginsberg' (on view in the West Building through September 16), and to perform Allen Ginsberg’s historic and culturally iconic poem 'Howl'...I was lucky enough to tag along with her on a tour of Allen Ginsberg’s exhibit led by Sarah Greenough, senior curator and head of the department of photographs at the National Gallery of Art, on Friday morning. Later, Saturday afternoon, I had the pleasure of interviewing her."

"My Lunch with Mihoko"

Via the Allen Ginsberg Project, Ellen Pearlman writes:

"Zen Buddhism, admittedly, is not my specialty, for my real training is in South East Asian Vipassana and Tibetan tantric meditation, which I have pursued for the past 35 years. During my research, the more I read Dr. Suzuki's work, the more I wanted to know about Suzuki the man...To help answer my questions, I located Dr. Taira Kemmyo Sato of the Three Wheels Organization in the U.K., who studied with Dr. Suzuki until the day he collapsed and died of an intestinal obstruction at age 96 in Japan. He suggested I get in touch with Mihoko Okamura, Dr. Suzuki's secretary for the last fifteen years of his life, now living in Kyoto, Japan."
