Declare a Major

While some students enter Naropa with a major already declared, students who are undecided work closely with their advisor to clarify intentions toward a major. Students may officially declare their major once they have earned thirty credits and have completed (or are
in the process of completing) Contemplative Learning Seminar, Diversity Seminar, Writing I and Writing II,
in addition to any specific requirements held by the department in which they intend to major. (Students majoring in Interdisciplinary Studies may declare their major during the semester they are earning their 30th credit.)

The process for declaring a major includes completing a declaration of major form and submitting it to Student Administrative Services by October 15 for fall semester and March 15 for spring semester, in order to register for classes as a declared major in the coming semester.

Current students who are ready to engage in the process of declaring a major are strongly encouraged to attend a declaration of major session on Wednesday, February 17, 2010 in PAC. At this session students will learn about the declaration of major process and have an opportunity to meet with faculty and staff from the academic department in which they intend to declare their major.

Naropa undergraduates can choose from the following majors.
