Visiting Students

While Naropa offers a unique and exceptional educational experience, we understand that it may not be feasible for students to spend their entire Bachelor’s or Master’s career with us. We have, therefore, created a program that allows undergraduate as well as graduate students to study at Naropa for a summer, a semester, or a year.

The Visiting Student Program allows students to register for degree classes, receive advising, and participate in all Naropa activities. As a visiting student, students are encouraged to immerse themselves in the Naropa culture and community and are supported in exploring a contemplative practice such as meditation, yoga, T’ai-chi Ch’uan or Aikido

Visiting students are given the opportunity to register early for classes. While not every course is open to visiting students and some may require permission of the instructor or prerequisites, we will do our very best to ensure that you are able to take the courses that meet your diverse needs and interests. Due to the nature of our master’s programs, access to graduate courses in most departments is limited.

In order to be eligible for the Visiting Student Program, students must be full time. Students pay regular Naropa University tuition, which is $10,369 for 12-18 credits and $685 per graduate credit for the 2007/2008 academic year.

Students visiting from other colleges or universities may not receive Naropa’s financial aid, but we are willing to sign consortium agreements with their home colleges to enable them to receive financial aid while visiting Naropa.

If you interested in taking a course at Naropa and are not looking to be a full-time Visiting student, please click here.

To see what courses are available, please look at our current course schedule.
