Additional Admission Requirements

Religious Studies

In addition to the standard graduate admission requirements, the following is required for graduate Religious Studies Programs:

  • Applicant must demonstrate personal maturity and strong academic skills.
  • Applicant must have an interest in studying religion in a nonsectarian context (MA Religious Studies).
  • Applicant must have an interest in studying Buddhist principles and meditation practices in a nonsectarian context (MA Indo-Tibetan Buddhism).

Writing Sample: Applicants to all Religious Studies programs must also submit an academic writing sample of at least five pages. It may be either previously written (please indicate when) or a new essay on a specific topic that is different from your statement of Interest essay.
