Additional Admission Requirements
MA Transpersonal Counseling Psychology:
Art Therapy
In addition to the standard graduate admission requirements, the following is required for MA Transpersonal Counseling Psychology: Art Therapy:
- Prior work experience in a clinical setting is recommended; experience in working with others is essential.
- Personal maturity and good written and verbal communication skills.
- An on-site interview is required for all applicants who are being considered.
- Supplemental Prerequisite Form.
- Applicants must have completed course work in Abnormal Psychology (3), Developmental Psychology (3) and Theories of Personality (3) as well as an additional 3 credits in Psychology course work, 3 credits in 2D studies (Drawing, Painting, Printmaking), 3 credits in 3D studies (Sculpture or Ceramics), and 12 credits of electives in studio art that develop competence with various art materials and a disciplined commitment to the art making process.
- Applicants must have completed course work by August 1st 2011
- A twenty-slide portfolio representing work in a diverse selection of media including painting, drawing and three-dimensional work, as well as a description of the work.
