Additional Admission Requirements

MA Transpersonal Counseling Psychology:
Art therapy

In addition to the standard graduate admission requirements, the following is required for MA Transpersonal Counseling Psychology: Art Therapy:

Transpersonal Counseling Psychology: Art Therapy Supplemental Application 

  • Prior work experience in a clinical setting is recommended; experience in working with others is essential.
  • Personal maturity and good written and verbal communication skills.
  • An on-site interview is required for all applicants who are being considered.
  • Applicants must have completed course work in Abnormal Psychology (3), Developmental Psychology (3) and Theories of Personality (3) as well as an additional 3 credits in Psychology course work and 18 credits in studio art classes including basic drawing (3 credits), painting (3 credits) and sculpture or clay (3 credits) and an additional 9 credits in studio art electives.
  • A twenty-slide portfolio representing work in a diverse selection of media including painting, drawing and three-dimensional work, as well as a description of the work.
