MA in Contemplative Education
Combining the study of holistic Western educational theory and philosophy with Eastern
meditation practices, the low-residency MA in Contemplative Education will give you
a strong foundation in contemplative teaching, curriculum development, and personal

MFA in Creative Writing & Poetics
The program offers an open genre curriculum within a contemplative academic environment,
providing MFA students maximum flexibility within the degree. Graduate students are
encouraged to take classes across genres, enabling them to investigate a personal,

MA in Environmental Leadership
Offering a balance of theory, skills, inner development, and experiential application,
Naropa’s Master of Arts in Environmental Leadership program employs an integrated,
living-systems perspective to prepare students to lead organizational and community

MA in Contemplative Counseling Psychology
Through meditation classes, retreats, and individual instruction, this three-year intensive program will help you understand the personal wisdom or "brilliant sanity" we all carry inside. This provides your undergirding as you study Buddhist and Humanistic approaches to psychology and begin your clinical internship. MFA in Theater: Contemporary Performance
Rigorous and performance-heavy, Naropa’s Master of Fine Arts in Theater: Contemporary
Performance program is the first of its kind in the country to link the study of contemporary
physical theater with Viewpoints theory and practice, as well as with contemplative

MA in Transpersonal Ecopsychology
Naropa University’s low-residency degree in Transpersonal Psychology with a concentration
in Ecopsychology integrates psychology and ecology in the study of human-nature relationships.
At Naropa University, contemplative practice and transpersonal psychology provide
a foundation for this integration. The two-year, 38-credit low-residency program begins

MA in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology: Art Therapy
Integrating diverse perspectives, the Art Therapy concentration strives to support
your spiritual / contemplative, artistic and academic unfolding. The program features
an innovative learning environment that encourages your journey toward professional
and spiritual wholeness. This is accomplished through progressive approaches to the
field of art therapy as well as active participation with a sitting meditation practice.

MA in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology: Counseling Psychology
Integrating theory with experiential learning, Naropa’s Master of Arts in Transpersonal
Counseling Psychology: Counseling Psychology concentration is designed for those seeking
an overall orientation to the field of counseling, from a transpersonal and humanistic
point of view. Course work emphasizes presence in the here and now, and focuses upon

MA in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology: Wilderness Therapy
The Wilderness Therapy degree concentration combines psychological counseling skills
with disciplines such as adventure therapy, ecopsychology and wilderness skills training.

MA in Religious Studies
Naropa’s Buddhist-inspired energy serves as a backdrop for the Master of Arts in
Religious Studies program, which embraces the vast diversity of religious expression,
offering students the opportunity to not only study Buddhism, but also to study the
