Faculty on the Move

The faculty and staff of Naropa University’s Contemplative Education Department are always seeking to be at the forefront of the discipline. This requires active engagement. See below for a list of where we’re going and what we're up to.

2010

Michele Blumberg recently co-authored with Sally Carless, “Whole Child, Healthy Planet”, an elementary school curriculum for Global Village School—a homeschool program. 

On November 27, 2010, Lee Worley will be teaching a workshop with Dzogchen Ponlop, author of Rebel Buddha: On the Road to Freedom, in Boulder, Colorado.

2011

On January 21 and 22, Richard Brown, Department Chair, will be presenting a workshop on the spiritual development of children and adolescents in Boulder, Colorado at the Shambhala Center.

On January 30, Joan Griffin will be attending a conference with Sylvia Boorstein and John Travis of Spirit Rock in Grass Valley, CA. Click here for information .

 On February 9, Richard Brown will give a lecture at Penn State University titled “Using Mindfulness in Teacher Education.”

On April 15–17, Richard Brown will participate in a round table discussion on “Mindful Teaching: Conceptualization and Measurement” at the Garrison Institute in Garrison, New York.

On August 7–11, Richard Brown will co-teach “Cultivating Awareness and Resilience in Education” at the Garrison Institute in Garrison, New York.

On May 10-12, Richard Brown will be participating in the Leadership Council meeting of Garrison Institute’s Initiative in Contemplation and Education.

On May 19-23, Richard Brown will be attending and presenting at the Sun Valley Wellness Festival. His talk is titled “How to Show Up for Adversity and Felicity: The Art of Presence in Teaching and Parenting.”
