Humanities and Interdisciplinary Studies
The School of Humanities and Interdisciplinary Studies joins academic study with personal experience, contemplative practice with analytical investigation. Rooted in the humanities and world wisdom traditions, courses in the School engage students in history, contemplative practice, philosophy, ethics, myths and symbols, literature, language, art, and culture.
Long-established methods of teaching traditional arts and ancient texts, along with contemporary methods of academic instruction, meet in the classroom. Students pursue personal transformation and skillful action, applying these to global issues. Whether graduate or undergraduate, in standard concentrations or interdisciplinary curriculum, students learn diverse and compassionate perspectives with which to meet our changing world.
